Around the house...

I thought I would post some pictures of the inside of our house. It is a small house, built in 1924. We have put alot of work into it and continue to!

I think my favorite room in our house is the dining room.

The walls are white painted panelling. When we bought our house (in 1984) the dining room and kitchen had dark brown panelling. It took many coats of paint to cover the panel. I love the outcome!

The first pic is of the dining room table. The runner is from Goodwill. The candle hurricane was $3.24 from Target. The candle ring was 90% off at Micheal's. Before we even bought this house, Richard's mom bought us our dining room suite. Antique mahogany table and chairs, buffet and china cabinet! I love them.

The little desk was my mom's as a teen. I rescued it from my parent's basemnet many years ago! It matches the other funriture perfectly!

The next picture is of decorations on top of the china cabinet. The crockery and prim doll all came from Goodwill. On the wall above and around the china cabinet are cross stitcheries. Also bought at Goodwill and garage sales.

The next pic is of my hutch. It came from Goodwill and was brown when I bought it. It cost $12.50. I spray painted it burgandy and love it. Most everything on it came from Goodwill, Salvation Army and garage sales.

The burgandy shelf came from Nashville, IN. The birdhouses came from many places, some were gifts.

The light is probably my favorite thing in the room. We bought it at a Speigel outlet in Seymore, IN. It was only $17.00! It was silver (LOL) but I saw it's potential. It has been several different colors! I finally painted it black last summer. The lampshades came from (surprise) Goodwill! I think they match the border so well.
