How do you mend a broken heart?

I have a broken heart.

It was caused by some family issues. It is a long story, that I'm not going to fully get in to, here. I can honestly say, that I should have no part in what has happened. I was drug into something I shouldn't have been. Some very hurtful things were said and I felt the need to defend my one and only daughter. I have been mourning this family separation for almost a week. And it is literally making me ill. I don't know if things will ever be able to be the same.

Let me start out by saying that I have a very soft heart. I have been told more than once that I wear my heart on my sleeve. Whatever. That's who I am. I do not like conflict and stay away from it as much as I can.

I have always committed myself to being the best daughter, SISTER, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend I could be. That is where the hurt comes from. My best hasn't been good enough. Everything I have done out of love has been thrown up in my face as doing it out of pity, guilt and obligation. Couldn't be further from the truth.

Hopefully putting this on my blog can help me start to heal. The more hurt that I feel, the more upset that Richard gets. I don't want that either.

I guess they have to mend on their own unless you have some strong glue. Cheers

I understand and totally sympathies with you, I have been in the same situation myself. Live and let live, life really is too short for worry and regrets!

You continue to be the loving caring person you are, you can't help it if others are out to bring distress into others lives. I hope you find peace in the Lord and know you have done your best!! Take care!~hugs~Wendy

I'm so sorry. I've had a family rift with my dad for a long time. It feels awful to know you do things from your heart only to have it not received well. I'm glad you protected your daughter. Stay strong.

{{{Denise}}} I, too, have been in the same situation with my family. It hurts, but you just have to move on & keep going. Hang in there! Hugs!

Oh.. I'm so sorry... I can truthfully say.. I wear my heart on my sleeve too...
Many times I feel like I give.. and give.. only to be let down... :o(

Bottom line.. don't change who you are to conform to others... it's not fair to yourself!!
