Robin's egg blue....

About 10 days ago, after taking Jaiden to the bus, I noticed robins flying in and out of this bush. I decided to take a peek in hopes of seeing a nest.

This is what I saw when I looked in the bush. The beginnings of a robin's nest.

I hadn't looked at the nest for a week or so, so Monday I decided to stick my camera in the bush and to snap a picture. I was delighted to see these perfect little eggs. Aren't they a beautiful color?

This morning after Jaiden got on the bus I walked past the bush that the nest is in. I was sad to see this little egg, cracked and in the grass. I picked it up and took it with me.

After I found the little egg laying in the grass I stuck my camera in the bush and snapped this picture. Mr. and Mrs. Robin now only have 3 eggs. :(

After washing the egg out, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. This is where the little blue egg rests now. Sitting on my hutch in the dining room, in a little nest that I found in the yard last spring.

Robins do have such beautiful blue eggs! That's sad about the one baby egg falling out.
